ARRC BC, a non-profit citizens group advocating for reform of long-term care, is very pleased to announce that two of its key trailblazers, Chairperson Penny MacCourt and Leadership Team member Kathleen Jamieson, have won Senior Leadership Awards from Simon Fraser University. Initiated in 2001, this award recognizes and honours seniors who make significant and valuable volunteer contributions.

Many have been advocating for years for a guaranteed collective voice for LTC residents and their families. There are now various avenues established to elevate the collective voice of resident and family councils at the local level (facility operator), regional level (Health Authority) and provincial level (Ministry of Health).
